Ekupholeni relies on the generous support of a number of local and international donors who have provided us with financial support, logistical aid and resources. Thanks to their continued support we have been able to continue to offer our programs to thousands of children, youth and adults in Katorus.
As a counselling organization, the bulk of our costs go toward salaries for our dedicated counselling staff. How do you know your money is being used appropriately? We have a full-time bookkeeper who keeps detailed records of income and expenditure, a board that ensures good governance, and we are audited by an external firm on an annual basis.
We are also extremely grateful for other kinds of giving including in-kind donations, sponsorships, and volunteering. See below!
Section 18A Tax Benefit Certificate
We are registered with the South African Revenue Services (SARS) as a public benefit organisation (PBO 930015219) and are therefore able to provide a tax receipt for all donations. As a taxpayer, you can use this receipt to claim a tax deduction.
Level One BEE Status
We are able to confirm that nearly 100% of our beneficiares are Black South Africans from historically disadvantaged communities and backgrounds. We can also confirm that at least 75% of the value of contributions made to Ekupholeni directly benefit Black people. As a corporate donor, you can earn BEE points simply by donating to Ekupholeni.
